As a creator in The Sandbox, it is currently too difficult to apply meaningful soundtracks to our experiences.
If this request is met, it would improve my experience because music and sound are vital components of an immersive experience. The current music library in GM is sparse and seemingly constantly changing with tracks coming and going with each iteration of GM. We are currently not allowed to use our own music (and video, for that matter), presumably due to copyright concerns.
TSB has a partnership with GALA. One of GALA’s entities is GALA Music, which sells music NFTs in a wide variety of genres by a multitude of artists. By using NFTs, from a vetted partner, TSB would be able to avoid copyright issues with these songs, allowing Creators to better soundtrack their experiences.
I propose that TSB actively and aggressively explore integrating GALA Music NFTs into GameMaker as one avenue for adding soundtracks to our experiences.
