🏗️ Builders' Challenge 2: Preliminary Rankings for Weeks 9+10

Hello sir @Dankoyy, sorry to tag you here. Mind sharing how did you achieved the 1hr 30min avg on 102 people playing on your experience which is not even a game?

Hello @biversen

While your opinion on the use of boosters in the Builders’ Challenge is entirely valid, this does not make the rankings and calculations wrong. The ranks are calculated as Ixura kindly clarified, which is based on the rules established for this event.

However, we are actively asking for feedback and aim to let creators be much more involved in planning the next BC. For now you can do this here!

We will be happy to note your constructive feedback on boosters and other elements in that thread so we can create an event which is fun and fair for everyone.

Thanks for your answer. From my perspective, everything that is unfair is wrong. That’s exactly what I wanted to say.

Think of it like a league. The team with the most points and goals is behind the team with the fewest goals and points. Why? It has a booster.
There is something wrong if people who have a lot of land and publish empty experience are ahead of those who really work hard and try to play their experience.

That was just an example. I’m not saying that everyone did it, but I can’t say that there is no one who didn’t.

I’ll write my suggestions on the forum if it helps.

For what it is worth, the exact same thing happened to me. In weeks 7&8, my experience that has been open since Feb 2024 dropped out of the rankings despite known visits. Then, for weeks 9&10, another of my experiences dropped out in addition to the first. Both had low numbers of visits for reasonable amounts of time based on average session length.

I submitted the “Missing Experiences” form in the links above.

Good luck getting in resolved. These are the kinds of things that make Creators question that the system is actually working.

I can see 90 minutes being no problem considering the vast number of new sounds added.

If I were creating an experience, it would be much easier to have @Dankoyy experience open testing different sounds much quicker than in gm build mode. Having it open as a reference alongside my build would speed things up.

In that respect, while not a game per se, its a heck of a useful utility.

Yes, maybe some players are afk for long times while in build mode, but come back to the experience when testing groups of related sounds.

I dont have any issue with his experience at all, and to be honest, i dont think he was even thinking about the BC when he built it. Dan is one of the good guys, and at heart has always had the best of intents for this platform.

You’re such a good friend Jon! However, i wish to hear it from our future one-of-the-good-guys Ambassador because he’s the person in question. He used to answer questions directed on TSB as if he’s one the staff or an ambassador, why can’t he answer this one?

Sorry Jon but this post clearly stated that he wanted more than just the 20th place. There’s no problem actually if he wanted to get on top, it is just his XP having questionably high avg playtime. Unless he would defend it, i am all ears.

Noted on the push to get top of BC. Fair enough there.

I’ll just add this for context on how many sounds are there.

90 min = 5400 seconds

There are approx 450 sounds to test which require walking from sound to sound to test, interacting and listening to the effect play. Some are longer than 1 second, some shorter.

5400 / 450 sounds = 12 seconds per sound which isnt that much considering a need to walk and trigger the sound one or more times.

Add in a bit of afk, and its totally reasonable.

But for sure, Dan is quite a vocal member of this community.

Entitled to your opinion. Cheers. I’ll leave it there

Hi @TSBCreators or @VeePyre, any timeline as to the distribution of rewards for week 9 and 10 since there isn’t much conflict this time around?

Hi @TobeyU!

Since we see no major flags for this final rankings, rewards are scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 24th!

We will keep you posted in the event that a delay should occur

Hi @VeePyre , can i know what will TSB do with left amount of sand in the BC-2 , will it distributed to all equally , if it is so it would be helpful to small creators / builders.

I agree with the question, the remaining SANDs of the 5 weeks should not be overlooked.
It would be right to distribute them

I agree on this one also to reward all creators who fought fairly in the competition. I congratulate all co-creators who’s been building since Day 1 on the Builder’s Challenge. Even though not all of us can reach the top prize but we should also congratulate ourselves for doing a good job as we gained our own games and own community through this.

I don’t think there were excess SAND because we have multiple winners in some positions like top 3 (instead of 60K budget they spent 100K in week 1-2, another 100K in Week 7-8, and 100K in Week 9-10). They have to utilized unclaimed prizes to cover the multiple winners, in fact, if my calc is right, they spent more than 1.5M SAND in BC2.

Hi  What about the missing experience reported through the form?

PS: check the claim page the week 9+10 reward just arrived!

Hi!

Everything which was reported through the form or those who were speaking to me directly through DM are already registered and do not need to take any further action.

Latest announcement here!

I won’t comment on the SAND budget, but you can refer to the same announcement linked above for an update on how much SAND was distributed during this BC
