Correct Game Maker Version for Game Jams

As a creator in The Sandbox, it’s too hard to find older Game Maker versions for game jams.

The recent game jam required Game Maker 0.10.15, but the day after the theme reveal, 0.10.16 was released. Creators who joined late couldn’t get the right version.

Newcomers who aren’t familiar with version requirements, might download the wrong version, spend weeks creating their submission, and then find out it doesn’t qualify.

I remember we used to be able to find older versions on GitBook, but now it’s either hidden or gone. If there’s still a way to download older versions, kindly share the link.

The only options are to ask on Discord, DM official staff or creators trying to get the correct version, scammers might take advantage of creators reaching out like this.

Suggested Solution:

Add the correct Game Maker version download link directly to the game jam thread, and please highlight the required version, as it is really important.

If this request is met, it would reduce confusion and ensure that all creators, new and experienced, can participate fairly without technical issues.

so for the Friendship Game Jam we have to build on v 0.10.15 but my game maker was on v0.10.10 till yesterday and I have created half of the game on that. Now I have updated my game maker to desired version and will continue to add other components & behaviors to it, is my project still valid for the game jam?? or will I have to start from scratch?

Yes, it would be valid if it is on version 0.10.15. :+1:
Just be careful not to update to 0.10.16.
